What is the story like?
High Draft follows Ruby (Keenan camp), a scholarship student, because he arrives in New York to study ballet. He immediately falls for Johnnie (Nicholas Galitzine), a poor British street violin that needs a visa to avoid deportation. The girl can, Ruby tries to save Johnnie from homelessness and appeared to get his legal status. And, of course, it means association with the crew of hip-hop dancers in order to compete for money and scholarship.
Is that good?
This entertainment of the talent mixture of classical and modern techniques of music and dance, exposing the enthusiasts of any one to another genre. And the film claims that overcoming modern skills requires equally hard work, drive and talent as overcoming classic techniques – equal admiration and respect are both disciplines. Energy and imaginative choreography shows how many performers in each category can learn from each other when artists are cooperating, instead of competing. In fact, High It is best when it shows fun and excitement after passion. For example, musicians in the bar are converted inspired into the ground in Riff Lawan Lake. And the quarrel of the party is dedicated to Fiddle-off-offs for toe, as violinists are competing for Ernesto Lecuona Malaguena.
It helps that stars are truly artistic talented. The camp is one of the few Americans who starred in the Russian Ballet Society, and the camera loves Galitzine; Like Johnnie, he has to show an impressive musical, dance and acting with the cauldron. Stars John Silver and Marcus Mitchell are also extraordinary dancers. The direction of Michael Damiana is Adroit, and the script – while sometimes a little bit rigid – well intended, with moments of wisdom. As a dance teacher, “Every time you win a step will always be another challenge waiting. It’s a long way, never ends.” Good advice for anyone.
